The Parishes of Dunham Massey

Remembering Her Majesty, the Late Queen

PRESS ASSOCIATION / Danny Lawson.

We have taken time to gather together in our grief, to give thanks for her life, her dutiful service, and her radiant faith in Jesus Christ. Last Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday, our churches were open with books of condolences.

As a parish, we have been greatly saddened at the death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who reigned over us from 1952-2022.

We met for a special commemoration service on Friday night, and Evening Prayer on Friday, Saturday and Monday. Last Sunday morning and this coming Sunday morning (17th) at our usual times are services of Holy Communion with chances to reflect on Her Majesty’s life and work.

“It is this simplicity of the Christmas story that makes it so universally appealing, simple happenings that formed the starting point of the life of Jesus – a man whose teachings have been handed down from generation to generation and have been the bedrock of my faith. His birth marked a new beginning. As the carol says: ‘The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.”
