A gathering of like minds at the Axe and Cleaver in Dunham village. We meet on the 4th Saturday of each month at 8am to enjoy fellowship and chatter, and listen to an interesting speaker. The venue provides a hearty breakfast for which we make a nominal £5 donation. This covers food plus tea and coffee which is served prior to and during the meal. We usually have between 25 and 35 attending MB each month.
Dunham MB has been running since February 2015. We have had a wide range of speakers on subjects as diverse as ‘Doping in Professional Cycling’ (Emma O’Reilly) to ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’ (Father Michael) as well as a number of contributions by group attendees.
We have a raffle for a bottle or two with the proceeds being donated to a charity as directed by our Speaker. The emphasis is on providing a convivial forum where members can meet up, have a chat, share a joke and listen to a talk that usually has a message or prompts reflection – albeit in an informal setting.
