Harvest Festival on Sunday 4th October

St Margaret’s and St Mark’s celebrated our traditional services of Harvest Festival on Sunday 4th October, both posted on line.

Food gifts were gratefully received by The Salvation Army in Sale, for distribution to the needy in the area.

Our Organist and Director of Music, Terry Crolley accompanied his violinist granddaughter, Hannah, who played “Be still for the presence of the Lord” and Purcell’s Rondo, from the incidental music to Abdelazar.

Hannah is a 4th year undergraduate mathematics student at Groningen University and a former violinist in the Royal Liverpool Philamonic Youth Orchestra.

Dr Sue Elves sang the closing anthem ” Thou visiteth the earth” by Maurice Greene (1696-1755) composed by him for St Paul’ s cathedral choir where he was organist.
