Altrincham Community Carol Service

Altrincham Community Carol Service

Three world faith traditions were engaged in the Altrincham Community Carol Service on the 9th December. The service began with greetings from the Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities. The story of the birth of Jesus being shared from the Bible and insights about Jesus from the Koran.

Children from Oldfield Brow Primary School sang in the choir stalls; Staff from Altrincham Grammar School sang in Latin ‘Adeste Fideles’; Young people from St Margaret’s sang to guitars; and Dancers from Altrincham Methodist Church danced in the aisles.

The service was a wonderful event bringing together all kinds of people from our rich and diverse Altrincham community.

The first Carol Service in a busy Christmas schedule for the churches and, for many, the official start of their Christmas season.
